The following pictures, taken at the City Center Station at 10:30 p.m. on the 17th. December 1999, show shoppers returning home after downtown shopping via the new TRAX Light Rail system.

Many thanks to Rich Christensen for the pictures. He reports that for the first time in history downtown merchants are having record sales attributed to Light Rail use. It has been this way every day since the grand opening two weeks ago. TRAX has been running an extra train in between every scheduled train to accomodate the overwhelming demand.
