Den Haag - Route 17 opens to Wateringse Veld: The final section of Route 17 from Rijswijk Plaspoelpolder to Wateringse Veld opened on Monday 23 August and will be officially opened by the Netherlands Transport minister on Saturday 28 August. On the same day the Minister will also inaugurate the start of work on Route 15.

The route currently starts at Centraal Station and branches off route 16 at Goeverneur Laan although it will eventually operate from Scheveningen. The line ends at the community square Lage Plein in Wateringse Veld which is central to some 8000 new homes.

Route 15 will branch off route 1 to serve the future business district of Hoornwijk, Ypenburg (which is designated residential development) and Nootdorp terminating at Sportpark Brasserskade. Both new lines will allow future use of vehicles 2.65m width.
