Accident in Köln:
On Monday (23 Aug.) evening a Siemens 'City Sprinter' ran into the rear of a stationary vehicle in a tunnel of the U-bahn. 67 people were injured in the accident. The vehicle was a prototype under evaluation/demonstration. It is understood that all three braking systems of the 'City Sprinter' failed. The cause of the failure is not likely to be known until the 'black box' recorder results become available.
