Croydon Central Area powered test: A notice has appeared in the Croydon Advertiser (11th June 99) announcing that the first full electric-powered test runs will commence on Wednesday 16th June 99 and this will include the morning rush hour. Additionally, at most road junctions where tram lines are ahead, signs warn that trams will commence on that road on 16th June.
