London Docklands - Lewisham extension: March 2nd and 3rd saw V31 hauled by Diesel loco V94 and battery loco V93 used for structure gauging from Greenwich to Lewisham on both tracks and all crossovers between those stations. March 16 saw V3 8 taken to Deptford Bridge to join V3 1. These two are to be used for electrical testing of the first substation rectifier for Railtrack electromagnetic Compatibility which started on 18th March. Gauging of the tunnel and electrical commissioning will take place during April. Station finishing work is taking place on all platforms and the fitting of wall coverings on the Section 12 stations has started. Much of the Alcatel trackside signalling equipment is in and powered up with local testing underway. Central signalling testing will start shortly and the extension will be operated as a fully stand alone railway for the first phases of testing.
