Bergen chooses Stadler trams : On 11 May the Norwegian city of Bergen announced its intention to sign an agreement with Stadler Pankow GmbH for the design and delivery of 12 Variotram to serve the new light rail line. The development contract has been signed; the production contract should follow before the end of the year; figures have not been revealed but are understood to be under EUR 2.5 M/car. The contract will include a maintenance agreement running for eight years from delivery in 2009. Public service is planned for the summer of 2010.
