Adelaide extension go-ahead : The extension of the Glenelg tramline from Victoria Square to the UniSA City West campus in North Terrace has received Development Assessment Commission consent meaning that work could start immediately although, due to certain events taking place, construction was intended not to start until April 2007, with completion in August and services starting running in September.

The AUD31 million design and construct contract for the extension has been awarded to Victorian company Coleman Rail.
