FLEXITY trams for Dortmund: Bombardier Transportation has received an order from Dortmunder Stadtwerke AG for the delivery of 47 Bombardier FLEXITY Classic trams. Bombardier will be responsible for delivering the mechanical part of the trams while The electrical equipment will be supplied by Vossloh Kiepe GmbH. The contract includes an option for five additional vehicles. Delivery of the 47 trams is scheduled to take place between October 2007 and August 2010. The trams will be designed and built at the Bombardier plant at Bautzen, Germany.

The FLEXITY trams for Dortmund are based on the low-floor vehicles manufactured for Frankfurt/Main in Germany. They are 30-meter long and can carry up to 178 passengers, including 64 seated and will be equipped with air conditioning and a video-surveillance system.
