More new cars for Docklands:
Bombardier Transportation has announced that London's Docklands Light Railway has placed an order for 24 automated light rail vehicles, with an option for a further 9. The contract has a value of GBP 50 million (GBP 66.5 million if the option is exercised) and delivery is scheduled for May 2007 to September 2008. Unlike the existing 94 Bombardier-built cars on the DLR, this order will be fulfilled at the Bautzen plant in Germany rather than at Brugge on Belgium, and will vary from the design of the existing fleet.
