Low floor car No. 6305 seen at the provisional terminus. Photo Alan Reekie Ghent Extension: Line 1 at Ghent, which has just celebrated its centenary of electric operation, was extended from St-Pieters rail station towards the 'Flanders Expo' exhibition grounds on 1 September 2004. The provisional stub teminus at Maalte is just across the southern ring canal, about 15 minutes walk via Derbystraat (along which preparations are already being made for the tracks to be laid) from the future loop teminus beside the existing Car Park No.3. Running through to Flanders Expo is due to begin in April 2005.
