Amsterdam farewell! The last six of the first generation articulated cars will be withdrawn by 5 April. The type first entered service some 47 years ago although the cars now being withdrawn were built by Werkspoor between 1966-68. Cars 722 and 724 will be withdrawn on 22 March, 695 and 721 on 29 March, and 700 and 711 on 5 April.

It is understood that 700 is destined for one of the local museum groups while the remainder will go for scrap. A special farewell trip with one yellow and one white car is scheduled to take place on Saturday 27th March.
