Milano Metrotramvia Nord and Sud opened:
On December 8th the new light rail lines 'Metrotramvia Nord' and 'Metrotramvia Sud' were inaugurated with subsequent changes to the network. In the North the main change is the extension of routes 4 and 5 on the new line to Parco Nord where it connects to the previously isolated interurban tramway to Desio which has been extend a short distance southwards to make the connection. In the south line 15 is diverted via new track near the Ticinese Depot to where it rejoins the original route at Place le Abbiategrasso.
