New tramline in Milan:
Saturday 7 December saw the start of service 7 from piazzale Lagosta to largo Mattei. this uses the new 'Bicocca' line that includes a short tunnel section under Greco Pirelli railway station. This links Bicocca, an area where Pirelli had its plants and still has its headquarters, to Viale Zara on the Metro line M3.
Rolling stock running on route 7 are Jumbo Tram series 4900 and Eurotram series 7000, but in the near future Sirio series 7100 will be introduced.
