Geneva chooses Bombardier:
The Board of Geneva municipal public transport operator TPG has evaluated offers received in response to its invitation to tender for new low-floor trams to provide capacity for the expansion of the system that is in progress in 2002-2008. It has decided to place an order with Bombardier Transport for 21 Cityrunner articulated trams, with an option for a further 18. The initial order for 21 cars is valued at EUR 60 million, and delivery is scheduled over 18 months from early 2004. An article about Geneva's expansion plans will be published in the August 2002 issue of 'Tramways & Urban Transit'.
