South Hants shortlist: Hampshire County Council and Portsmouth City Council have announced the short list of pre-qualified consortia to build, maintain and operate the 14-km South Hampshire light rail project.
They are:

• Smart (AMEC/Mitsubishi/Obayashi/SERCO);
• Harbour Light Rail (Carrilllion/Nuttall/Alstom/Transdev);
• South Hampshire Supertram (Stagecoach/Mowlem/Bouygues/Siemens).

The consortia have been invited to come forward with their detailed proposals during 2002, and the final selection of the successful consortium will be made in 2003.
