Paris orders 800 metro cars from Alstom-led consortium:
A consortium comprising Alstom Transport, Bombardier and Technicatome is
to supply 161 five-car metro trains to Paris metro operator RATP in
2003-2015. The EUR 695 million order will replace some 40% of the steel
wheel Paris metro rolling stock and equip lines 2, 5 and 9. The new
trains will be assembled at Valenciennes in France.
