Bombardier to build LRVs for Hiawatha line in Minneapolis: The Metropolitan Council has selected Bombardier to build 18 LRVs at a cost of USD 56 million, including spare parts, tools and system support. There is an option for four additional cars at USD 2.25 million each. The cars will be three-section articulated cars with 70 % low floor for level boarding from low platforms. They will be 94' long and 8'8" wide. The body shells will be built in Sahagun, Mexico with final assembly in Barre, Vermont.
