More cars for Denver: The Regional Transportation District board authorized the purchase of 6 additional Siemens SD-100 LRVs at their January meeting. This purchase was based on staff recommendations that additional capacity would be required on the Southwest corridor opening this Summer. The RTD staff feels that once construction on the I-25 corridor LRT & Highway project begin in earnest people in the area will move to the Southwest corridor to avoid the massive construction congestion expected.
